Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant payment system which allows you to instantly send and receive money.
UPI PIN (UPI Personal Identification Number) is a 4-6 digit pass code you create/set during first time registration with a BHIM UPI enabled App. This PIN is required for you to allow your account to be debited for transactions while sending money to others. A UPI PIN should never be shared or disclosed with anyone and should always be entered only on your own phone and on the UPI PIN page of a BHIM UPI enabled app.

No, a customer cannot link a wallet to UPI, only bank accounts can be linked to UPI.
Please ensure that the mobile number linked to your bank account is the same as the one verified in any BHIM UPI enabled app. If it is not the same, your bank account will not be validated by the UPI platform.
In case of change in the BHIM UPI enabled app, a person needs to register again and the app needs to create a new UPI ID with the handle of the PSP.

No, registration of a beneficiary is not required for transferring funds through UPI as the funds would be transferred on the basis of UPI ID/Account+IFSC/BHIM UPI QR. (Please check with your PSP and issuing bank with regard to the services enabled on the app).
In case of UPI transaction, the beneficiary needs to be registered for UPI and have a UPI ID but in case of Account + IFSC, the beneficiary need not be registered for UPI. (Please check with your Payment Service Providers and issuing bank with regards to the services enabled on the BHIM UPI Apps).
The transaction will fail if you enter the wrong UPI PIN.
Once you complete a transaction, you should see a success status on the BHIM UPI enabled app screen and receive an SMS from your bank. In some cases, due to operator issues it can take longer to receive this message. In case you have not received your confirmation within an hour please contact the customer support of your bank.
UPI provides for real time reversals for declines and amount will be transferred back to the payer account immediately. In case the amount is not immediately reversed, you can contact your bank for the same.

Your transaction is successful, but due to some issue at the beneficiary’s bank end, there is a delay. The amount will reach him/her in 48 hours, once the bank is done with its daily settlements.

Not really. In any transaction, the UPI PIN would be needed to be entered through the mobile on the BHIM UPI enabled app PIN page. So, do not share your UPI PIN with anybody, ever.
